Picea mariana

Black spruce is a native species in Quebec. This tree specie largely dominates the boreal forest. Indeed, Picea Mariana has a great economic impact largely used for its great properties for lumber production and pulp and paper. In addition, insects and diseases do not affect its wood because of its high natural resistance. It is also the most used species in the reforestation program.

Black spruce resists to very extreme climate and it is one of the most emblematic Nordic tree species surviving even in the tundra.
